It was definitely rough around the edges with quite a few mistakes (like why was he standing on a pink on his own at drake? He was just asking to get bodied), but mid and late he picked the right fights and played it well.

On another note, are the Loud fans cheering on fnatic now? There's a sizeable audience cheering fnatic that I wasn't hearing before.

im on my knees here for some form of consistency from hyli and razork.

207

u/DKRFrostlife Oct 02 '22

They are consistent being inconsistent!

103

u/Acemanau Oct 02 '22

They never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

22

u/tTensai Flame is harmless, griefing is not Oct 02 '22

100% of the time they are consistent, they're not being inconsistent

62

u/TheUItimateBlip Oct 02 '22

I was feeling like that about hyli 3 years ago. At this point I just enjoy the show cause I believe that hyli is a net positive if you add everything together and on pressure much better than most alternatives. Hyli gives it and hyli takes it away :)

36

u/Seneido Oct 02 '22

never saw a single adc complain about hylisang ints before. everyone holds him in high regards and i bet they know he puts on an immense amount of pressure and plays on a razor thin edge and sometimes you die.

3

u/Worldly-Duty4521 Oct 03 '22

I've hardly seen an adc/sup complain about the other one.

3

u/Seneido Oct 03 '22

the ex-vitality one with atilla and jactroll but usually players in generel don't talk bad about team mates because its poor taste and can hinder getting on new teams for sure. there is a difference between silence and talking highly about your support though. u can watch all the promo stuff with other players how they measure hyli from games against him or in soloq.

8

u/mormotomyia Oct 02 '22

Consistency is only a virtue if you're not a screw-up..

63

Fnatic fans and flaming their coach whenever shit gets real. Name a more iconic duo

127

u/takato99 Oct 02 '22

Tbf they do flame every single part of the org from the players to the org higher ups including coach and probably even janitors & nutritionists...

44

u/Ghazzawy Oct 02 '22

Yeah but like if the facilities janitor did his fucking job well like he is supposed to, we wouldn’t be struggling to win and our players would have a clean environment to think about drafts

24

u/Stubrochill17 Aphro-stan Oct 02 '22

“Fans” do.

8

u/osgili4th Oct 02 '22

FNC fans are the closest to the T1 fans, they always thinks they know better and want to burn the org to the ground if anything goes wrong.

5

u/Cerarai Oct 03 '22

It's almost as if FNC and T1 had a huge amount of fans which means there's more idiots among them.

Some guy at Riot is praising the Sun gods for saving him from being humiliated for writing an utterly worthless ruleset.

42

u/Archipegasus Oct 02 '22

The ruleset needs to be aware of broadcast times. You cant spend 12 extra hours at the end of the day going through a plethora of tiebreakers so the ruleset has to be designed to minimise the amount that you have to play.

10

u/SanSilver Oct 02 '22

Thats why there are 2 less games today. So that there is a bit of time for tiebreakers

jax: I am helping

37

u/4_idiots_and_me lets go Oct 02 '22

Eh still not the FNC from playoffs, a lot of mistakes but won through individual prowess.

Also, upset trolled that baron smite by ulting XD

191

u/Conankun66 Oct 02 '22

not the cleanest game ever, especially from Razork(the chase at the drake fight and then getting caught out in the jungle and then losing smite fight) but overall still a pretty dominant game. even with the hiccups we never gave up control of the game

the farm gaps especially became kind of absurd very fast and this wasnt the first time for BYG. are they just allergic to farming?

12

u/fesch98 Oct 02 '22

I mean 80% of play-ins has been hands diff, who even needs to be clean

62

u/Haymegle Oct 02 '22

I swear Fnatic tend to lose these smite fights, every time it's important. You don't need it to be 50/50 when you're ahead!

28

u/midoBB Oct 02 '22

Missing Cyanide in the jungle tbh.

29

u/Haymegle Oct 02 '22

I miss those days too.

Wish we had him on the analyst desk too, that was really fun. I'll never forget him comparing Cait midgame to nipples on a man lol.

9

u/AllHailTheNod Oct 03 '22

"i like corki because he has a huge package and so do i, ..."

48

u/Conankun66 Oct 02 '22

although i gotta say this one looked very weird with how it went from 1150 instantly to 0

26

u/DKRFrostlife Oct 02 '22

Aphelios ult + sej smite at same time pretty much

7

u/Vast-Equipment-7971 Oct 02 '22

at 1150 upset also pressed Q which was enough to chunk nash below smite range.

17

u/Omnilatent Oct 02 '22

Looked like both jungler smote at the exact same time?

8

u/Elibu Oct 02 '22

Was due to Aphelios AOE. FNC was focused on killing Seju before finishing baron. but Upset's damage made Seju's smite kill it.

→ More replies

3

u/Haymegle Oct 02 '22

Yeah. I just feel like they risk it when they don't need to and it'll really cost them against stronger teams. It's frustrating but def part of their giving me a heart attack playstyle haha.

u/Ultimintree LoLesports enjoyer Oct 02 '22

7

u/Suizooo Where Finnish LEC players? Oct 02 '22

Tbh the smite fight (if you are talking about baron) was really unfortunate, baron was at 1100 and died same tick to smite.

Fnc as team should have denied sej access to baron or slowed dps and killed sej.

3

u/Elibu Oct 02 '22

They did slow and started focusing Seju, but Upset's AOE brought Baron down very low.

u/TharkunOakenshield Oct 02 '22 edited Oct 02 '22

23

u/PremadeTakeDown Oct 02 '22

Razork running blind facechecking into fog/pink wards 1 second after upset resets for IE. honestly this will be punished by major region teams, thats insta dead jungler and baron right there for the enemy team. are they not communicating resets? Im basing for IE is even solo q levels of communication.

94

u/IAM-French Oct 02 '22

This is the worse Jax performance I've ever seen and I watched the infamous Jax/Cassiopeia hashinshin game

68

u/KekeBl Oct 02 '22

It's Jax against Gragas. Anyone who's played this matchup knows how hopeless it is for Jax. E max Gragas absolutely dumpsters Jax and Riven.

14

u/Averdian Oct 02 '22

I wonder what the idea was? They picked Jax last, when FNC had Maokai and Graves. I'm guessing they saw Graves and assumed it was Maokai top, and that Jax would do well against that (I don't know if that's true or not?). But obviously Fnatic just sees Jax, puts Maokai supp and picks Gragas top.

17

u/RuneMath Oct 02 '22

I mean that is just the power of a flex pick.

They had to blindpick something, but if they pick something that has no teeth at all then Fnatic just gets the free toplane with Maokai and gets to counterpick botlane as well.

Having to pick something that makes Maokai toplane unhappy, but is also hard to counterpick isn't an easy task.

Though Jax specifically is a bit of a headscratcher, Wunder was basically a Gragas onetrick (and very successful at it!) for half the year so giving him a good MU was odd.

5

u/Averdian Oct 02 '22

Yep, good example of the power of a flex pick, though I feel like we haven't had a triple flex champ like Maokai in the meta for a while, and while I sometimes hate how these champs dominate the meta, I think drafts are so much more interesting when they're in the meta

7

u/SxAnthony23 Oct 02 '22

Yeah I am pretty sure that if this fight was 4vs4 without toplaners, BYG has a way higher chance of winning teamfights. My man Likai on Jax refuses to at least offer his body in a teamfight (herald fight), to go die multiple times by himself in lanes.

15

u/timyoxam Oct 02 '22

What's up with those razork flashes? He looked so mad.

45

u/kirikiri11 Oct 02 '22

Humanoid has been a different kind of beast in play-ins. meanwhile razork has just been completely running it, hope he can get back to his summer play-offs form

11

u/CheekyRoll Oct 02 '22

Amazed by Humanoids Akali. Very entertaining to watch. Same goes with Wunders Gragas performance.

94

u/lovo17 Oct 02 '22

Then, I played vs him. "Humanoid". It was just another day of Worlds scrims, but not for me. This was the first time someone had truely decimated me in midlane, far worse than any LCK or LPL player on the Korean ladder. My jungler and Support must be at fault I thought. He's playing so aggressive, and where is my jungle and support? But it didn't matter how many times they came mid, he would outplay nearly every time and even when he didn't he would still win the lane. I was amazed and inspired that someone could play so well, what is he doing different?

28

u/Chr0nicConsumer Oct 02 '22

Excellent pasta, what is the sauce?

47

u/lovo17 Oct 02 '22

RJS wrote this about Jojopyun when they played each other in Academy.

68

u/Dann93 Oct 02 '22

Holy Christ Razork was shit this game

75

u/Troviel Oct 02 '22

36

u/Dann93 Oct 02 '22

That's the first step, at least.

21

u/Haymegle Oct 02 '22

Hopefully he can fix the issue if he knows what it is. Hopefully it's just an off week, Razork playing in proper form is far more fun to see.

46

u/Haymegle Oct 02 '22

I think he's an emotional player and tends to play as well as he thinks it's going. So when he's not doing so well it tends to make him play worse. Hopefully he can reset and come back stronger. The same happens in reverse too.

8

u/Pelagius_Hipbone British orgs baby Oct 02 '22

But he was so nervous the entirety of playoffs and until 25 mins of game 3 vs XL their entire season was trash but he was still hard smurfing in that series and the rest of playoffs.

I’m not sure what’s going on with him but I don’t think it’s because he thinks things aren’t going well. Or even that he’s emotional

3

u/Haymegle Oct 02 '22

Fair enough, that's just the impression I got cause when he does well he tends to do better after, so I just assumed he reset there and after that got back in form and it made him play better because the other games went well.

Hopefully he can fix the issue whatever it is and it's just a case of having a bad few games.

7

u/Elibu Oct 02 '22

Kai'Sa living behind drake pit with like 5hp was not expected, would have gone way differently if she died there and been a good play. The one death when pushing for mid tier 1 was kinda silly. And baron wasnt really his fault.

Imagine if BYG could cs and didn't have to start every fight getting massively item diffed.

31

u/salcedoge Oct 02 '22

Yeah they really played like a wildcard team here, randomly grouping up as 4 and giving up free waves for no reason.

38

u/Conankun66 Oct 02 '22

the farm gaps became so big so fast it was kind of mind boggling

15

u/cancerBronzeV Oct 02 '22

Ya, and the farm gaps became big before there were even any rotations coming in. Later on BYG was just constantly dropping waves while FNC picked them up well, but even in lane, all three lanes were getting cs gapped just purely mechanically.

3

u/GreedyAd9 Oct 02 '22

i think with hyli they are less afraid, enter risky plays. And hyli often is the one going for those, pushing the chase, which sometimes works and sometime backfires. With rhuckz thy were afraid, played careful

if this is the case FNC would have played it way more respectfully, but they now they are just better and was ahead from start to finish.

According to some people that are analyst from reddit... Fnatic is a wildcard team... so they already lost. /s

u/CFCkyle Oct 02 '22

You underestimate NA teams ability to completely fumble their chances when they've been thrown a lifeline

EG wins, then loses the tiebreaker to FNC to get second. In the KO Stage they have to face Mad Lions to decide. The Memes will be great

u/Joaoseinha Oct 02 '22

Wait is there a tiebreaker, considering FNC has the head to head?

7

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

Yes

7

u/Vexis12 #1 Rogue Believer Oct 02 '22

yes, FNC get side selection for the H2H

11

u/Scatter5D Oct 02 '22

Yeah I'm wondering as well, why is there a need for tiebreaker because even if EG wins vs DFM, FNC still has h2h over EG

14

u/IAM-French Oct 02 '22

Because using head to head in a single round robin phase is unfair because only one of the teams had blue side in their match

9

u/Tag-der-Vernichtung Oct 02 '22

The team that won h2h gets side selection tho

7

u/IAM-French Oct 02 '22

well yeah they still get a small advantage

0-8 hype?

8

u/humanesadness Oct 02 '22

0-11 hype if they get to play against mad would be kinda cool

surely NA can win a match against EU this year, right?

13

u/greendino71 Oct 02 '22

I want a quarterfinal match between C9 and Rogue so bad

6

u/BlakenedHeart Oct 02 '22

It is impossible, because i dont see either topping their grps and equal seeds dont match eachother

Bro FNC are so blessed to have Upset and Umanoid, considering how hard Hilly and Razok are running it

6

u/Intrepid-Curve-927 Oct 02 '22

so much greed, the good thing is that they can fix that.

4

u/Hautamaki Oct 02 '22

bit of an everything gap there

Coinflip Fnatic comes up heads today.

Some overextension from them but looking a lot better than yesterday.

10

u/Constantinch Oct 02 '22

Humanoid is such a beast, he doesn't miss so far. Even vs. LLL he was super far ahead.

17

u/Taii_Pan Oct 02 '22

Props for Fnatic. Pretty good results for playing 3 vs 5

22

u/Troviel Oct 02 '22 edited Oct 02 '22

hyli played this pretty decently, only his death at enemy blue was bad and he basically saved Razork. Razork was the one too aggressive.

13

u/bcotrim Oct 02 '22

Razork completely jungle gapped Husha, he just had some sloppy deaths, but overall had a good game

7

u/Espada42 Oct 02 '22

Not hard to gap Husha lol, Razork looked shaky, reckless, and missed flashes aswell, he doesn't look good so far

Meh...this BYG team finished #6 regular season, and beat PSG Talon in 5 games to make #2 where they got 3-0'd by CFO in finals.

PSG went 3-2 w/ CFO w/ a roster of Hanabi / Burry / Gori / Unified / Kaiwing. BYG probably wasn't the best possible team to go, but they won straight up, so it is what it is.

4

u/salcedoge Oct 02 '22

Yeah, PSG really could've done wonders over BYG but what can we do..
