When both teams are even in gold, LOUD feels that LOUD is at a great advantage and thus they do not hesitate to start a team fight. When LOUD is 3k behind in gold, LOUD thinks that LOUD is at a small advantage, and they start a team fight to secure their "lead". When LOUD is behind 7k in gold, LOUD thinks that LOUD is at a disadvantage and so they look for a team fight to regain control of the game. When LOUD is 10K behind in gold, LOUD thinks that the team has reached a desperate situation and they are only waiting passively for their death if they do not start a team fight.

What the fuck just happened

147

u/S0fourworlds-readyt Oct 02 '22

Turns out going in 1v4 one by one is not a great play even when 10 k gold ahead.

Also turns out diving a full team when 5 k behind is a good way to throw your comeback away.

145

u/DeloronDellister - V5 - Oct 02 '22

Loud threw and good guys chiefs threw back

26

I can see why cblol competes in viewership with some major leagues. I'd tune in to every GG or TSM game if they also played this kind of game.

19

u/SanSilver Oct 02 '22

CHF were teams thats made these many teamfights possible with beeing 10k behind and taking the fight and then even often haveing small wins at the end.

gg CHF was fun (47kill game)

ORNN please for my pickems

15

9

u/Mahelas Oct 02 '22

The OG, Heimer

7

u/saruthesage Ssumdaddy simpDoinb's douyu girlfiend Oct 02 '22

Ornn is playable and you give a ton of value later, same for maokai. Jax looked OK but that might just be breathe

16

u/Liteboyy Be my friend pls Oct 02 '22

Garen. Just fucking execute the damn bastard.

39

u/lolKronch1 Oct 02 '22

Unironically Garen looked playable the problem was RNG was winning that game no matter what was picked

14

u/819N1994 Oct 02 '22

The problem is also that you have a Garen on your team in a pro game.

→ More replies

5

u/MiyaharaAce Oct 02 '22

Garen and im not joking

8

u/LaughingAtSpergs Oct 02 '22

I'm sure tons of stuff works when good players are playing it.

Fiora is likely good, Jax is likely fine, etc.

3

u/Teut0burg Oct 02 '22

So fucked that Riot nuked his counter (Renekton) and left him this broken for Worlds.

8

u/icedrift Oct 02 '22

I'm surprised we haven't seen Gwen yet. It doesn't win lane but she's really hard to punish and scales into a monster teamfighter

5

u/DevelopmentNo1045 Oct 02 '22

Gwen nerfs actually seems to have worked. Removing so much true damage reduces her viability against tanks and combined with so many nerfs now she's just straight up weaker. I think Gwen is still playable tho tbh. Might see it more later.

2

u/SupLord Oct 02 '22

Didn’t Licorice play Hec into Aatrox as a counter a season or two ago when he was on C9?

2

u/aser08 Top diff is Jungle diff Oct 02 '22

Graves probably isn't that bad because you don't really ever have to interact with the Aatrox in lane and you get to deal a lot of damage. Plus the spike is probably quicker as you wouldn't rush umbral glaive.

your top laner gets caught out 1v4 when you have a 12k gold lead, what do you do:

a) let him die, get control of top side and maybe a top tower and some camps

b) slowly rotate to the enemy teams death ball and give them 4 consecutive 1v4s

100

u/IceStr3am Oct 02 '22

robo and tin were saying in coms that they would 2v5, legit gigachads

52

u/daCampa Oct 02 '22

They probably would, if they were 2v5 and not 1v5 in line

4

u/Mahelas Oct 02 '22

Is it a battle ? Aatrox is like, miles ahead, and he keeps being perma picked

3

u/GGABueno where Nexus Blitz Oct 02 '22

But Nautilus players keep inting to compensate. Quality over quantity 😎

2

u/shadowbannednumber 100T Oct 02 '22

It's not close. It's just many people chose Naut without thinking about pickrate.

It's actually close for Amumu and Aatrox, though. Amumu is just better Naut, so will get picked more, but still dies a fuck ton. He might be able to dethrone Aatrox.

3

u/Miyaor Oct 02 '22

Aatrox will surely start getting banned now COPIUM

2

u/Mahelas Oct 02 '22

Honestly, I'm kinda salty cause I predicted Aatrox being busted, but I had it as the most banned, not the most picked !

366

u/In4thPlace Oct 02 '22

LOUD are the most GIGACHAD wildcard team I've ever seen.

138

u/Pope_Cheetos_XIV Oct 02 '22

Absolutely sprinting these teamfights but still finish in under 30

48

u/kor_janna Oct 02 '22

They get their cardio in, sprinting and running

94

u/K4ntum Oct 02 '22 edited Oct 02 '22

Really fucking hope they make it to the group stage, instantly gained a ton of fans with their playstyle, just 0 fucks given. Someone post the this is league of legends pasta.

Also proves it's not always the picks that make a game boring, here's another Aatrox pick but it was hella fun to watch him just go for 1v2s like it's soloqueue lol.

15

u/fsychii Oct 02 '22

reminds me Albus Nox Luna

27

u/icedrift Oct 02 '22

Right? I'm an NA fan and I'm lowkey hoping EG lose so we can see LOUD in groups

31

u/Prainstopping TheShy/PromisQ Worlds 2022 Oct 02 '22

Yeah I realized yesterday idgaf about FNC or MAD, seeing LLL in groups would be a lot more fun.

2

u/MrNugat Oct 02 '22

It's fun when they are matched against oponnents of similar class. If they advance instead of EG they are going to group B. Sure, they have a potential to get some upset (as seen yesterday), but in most games it won't be pretty.

16

u/Prainstopping TheShy/PromisQ Worlds 2022 Oct 02 '22

Could say the exact same for EG though.

Were you not around in 2016?

Loud definitely is up there though

Edit: Albus NoX Luna from the CiS (Russia) made it out of Groups and made top 8.

6

u/In4thPlace Oct 02 '22

I took almost all of 2016 off because I wasn't enjoying League at the time, I think I only tuned in for TSM's and C9's matches for summer playoffs and Worlds?

2

u/icedrift Oct 02 '22

Was that the year Unicorns of Love made a run?

13

u/Kalinzinho Oct 02 '22

that was the year Albus Nox Luna, from Russia, went to quarterfinals at worlds after taking games off CLG, G2 and Rox Tigers (korea's first seed)

That same world's, INTZ (from Brazil) beat EDG in their very first game at worlds in a stomp (but proceeded to lose all of their following matches).

8

u/Joaoseinha Oct 02 '22

They didn't just take games off those teams, they forced a tiebreaker for 1st with ROX, who went on to have the legendary Bo5 with SKT which is arguably one of the best Bo5s in LoL history.

3

u/Kalinzinho Oct 02 '22

Yeah, I wasn't meaning to downplay their achievements (they even went 2-0 vs CLG iirc).

Hell, Likkritt was the reason I mained Brand for years. They were my favorite non-br Wildcard team since their time as Hard Random.

3

u/sameo15 Oct 02 '22

It was CiS, but it was Albus Nox Luna

22

66

u/CounterInsanity Oct 02 '22

Ahh man, I was rooting for the Chiefs to not go 0-5, but they forced that last fight for no reason. They were getting good picks that got them back into the game but that wasn't the play.

32

u/Pouncyktn Oct 02 '22

More like LOUD was inting for fun with a 10K lead. Those were some awful fights.

7

u/kitiny Oct 02 '22

Wildcards in general seem to do things like this. Major regions can often just sit there and wait until the other team does something to lose the game.

6

u/aser08 Top diff is Jungle diff Oct 02 '22

Not really fights just running in one by one into bot lane. The second fight was just Chiefs being better at executing their team comp.

12

u/mimiflou Oct 02 '22

They play like random mid diam player, they don't even track summoner or stopwatch, Braum just flashed in a Sylas with flash/zonhya , game was totally winnable before that hily moment

4

u/aser08 Top diff is Jungle diff Oct 02 '22

They were so close to winning that game if they just go slow.

39

Overconfidence

And ironically, it was chiefs downfall as well

3

u/Saephon Oct 02 '22

10

u/beesong Oct 02 '22

lmao when the odds became so heavily favored for brazil, the times have changed

4

u/Dsalgueiro Oct 03 '22

Until 2016 Brazil was considered the best Wildcard region... Then came the fateful year of 2017, the "lost year" of CBLoL, and everything went downhill.

2018 and 2019 was the beginning of a new generation in the Brazilian LoL scene. Several legendary players began to retire and the new generation began to take over.

CBLoL does not have a playerbase like Europe, China and Korea, nor can it sign imports like NA... So it took until 2021 for this new generation stabilize and start recovering the international level.

u/Th3_Huf0n Oct 02 '22

Like clockwork, once again Dom puts OCE at the very bottom of a tier list because "OCE bad lul", his audience is much larger than ours here in aus, so these bad takes influence his fans to continue to perceive us badly 3 of the past 4 intl. events we have had a team make it either to the second stage (PGG) or be within 1 series of groups(PCE vs C9, LGC vs LGD), but he continues to push a harmful narrative about us. OCE alums are among the best in his region but that never seems to come up🤔

2

u/DementedMaul Oct 02 '22

Just remind them how many oce players are playing in LCS, and that half this team will be picked up as well. NA’s best hope is C9, ever heard of Fudge?

And in one game, Aatrox and Amumu once again balloon the gap between them and Naut.

This has got to feel awful for chiefs. Where the hell do you even go with this roster now? 2 almost perfect seasons but 0 international wins

Raise the Kiwis & Koalas boys.

Rough tourney for the lads. I think 0-5 was more mental than skill based, since imo our first match was the most winnable.

OCE players if you're reading this, ignore the cringe talk of taking a spot away etc. OCE will never be silenced.

My CHF most valuable player this world's was Raes.

Loud was trying to end as fast as possible for tie breaker, so this kind of throw was expected

The chiefs win wouldn't have count towards win time as they were already eliminated

I mean, there's a reason LOUD's slogan is "SEM MEDO", which means "without fear".

This was like watching a team of Le Challenjour Smurfs playing against random bronze... wild.
