There is currently a CQ game with Caps, Jankos, Deft, Viper, Lehends, JieJie, and Targamas

Is there any way to see the replay of this game and other insanely stacked champions queue games in general that will probably occur during Worlds?

Edit: u/predroordep comes in with the clutch and links us the vod of this game. Legend. Caps goes full Claps in this one boys.

Man I would love to listen to the old griffin bot comms

u/thebindi Oct 03 '22 edited Oct 03 '22

I saw that bot match up and I was like take me back to the GRF glory days. If we get a CQ game of Doran Kanavi Chovy Viper Lehends all on one team my brain might implode and I can die happy.

u/Critical-Cupcake9194 Oct 03 '22

Jesus i forgot Kanavi was a sub for GRF when Tarzan was considered the best player in the world

33

u/qonoxzzr Chovy <3 Oct 03 '22

Tarzan was really insane at that time

48

u/Storiaron Oct 03 '22

To tell how incredible tarzan was you can just point at kanavi and say he used to be a sub for him

23

u/SwoonBirds Oct 03 '22

fucking Sword man.

I'm still salty about how fast GRF imploded, they were literally surpassing Damwon levels of hyped up rookies and they just completely imploded before we could see their peaks.

9

u/cosmiccanadian Oct 03 '22

Im convinced if they played doran like cvmax wanted to and kept the other 4 original members. GRF would at this day have won at least 3 world championships and created a dynasty to truely rival or beat skt's reign. But poor management and player implosion denied us that. Every player from that line up has won domestic and world titles across multiple teams and regions well being one of if not the key member to that title. Its insane and sad to think about. I could be wrong but watching that 2018/2019 griffin team play was something else ive yet to see again

6

u/Storiaron Oct 03 '22

Yeah i bet doran wouldn't have been anihilated by prime theshy

0

u/cosmiccanadian Oct 03 '22

I said to this day they would have 3 world championships. I agree they probably lose 2018 to ig still. But 2019, 2020 and 2021 would have all been griffin. This is all speculation, like who knows what would really have happened. This is just a scenario i think is actually very very likely. So feel free to disagree. Its just a interesting thing to look back on and think about in my opinion

u/ChibiJr ^^; Oct 04 '22

As much as I like all these players I think it's pretty clear that they have grown a lot as they have played on their separate teams and they wouldn't necessarily have become quite as dominant as they are now if they continued playing with each other. I think if you put them all on the same team now, then yeah it would be very likely that they just win the next world championship they would play in. But I'm not quite as convinced that they would win 3 in a row had they stayed together in a stable environment...

u/EvianRex Oct 04 '22

Youve misremembered G, they would be on 2 right now, grf lost to ig in 2019

6

u/thebindi Oct 03 '22

The OG jungle sub steal. Now we have the Canyon Malrang sub steal with Malrang absolutely giga stomping LEC.

5

u/waltzingwizard Oct 03 '22

also crazy to think that T1 had teddy/guma/berserker locked down at some point lol

4

u/Akordas Oct 03 '22

To tell how incredible tarzan was you can remember that he had 3 diffrent accounts rank 1,2,3 in solo q at the same time. Dopa is very cute compared to him.

1

u/sandwelld Oct 03 '22

I didnt watch back then, comparable to peak Canyon? That to me is still the most insane jungle gapping I've witnessed in like 10 years of watching (though I missed out a year or two during the GRF era)

9

u/plutonium_oxide Oct 03 '22

griffin had some ridiculously good scouting. theyve discovered at least 4 definitive legends of the sport

11

u/whataremyxomycetes Oct 03 '22

I mean, damwon literally won worlds and they were considered second to griffin in 18/19, that's how fucking stacked that roster was. It'll always be one of the biggest what-ifs in league history, especially considering how many of its members are now world champions and/or part of teams that are considered heavy favorites.

6

u/X1lon Oct 03 '22

i mean GenG is literally Griffin right now. Viper=Ruler, and Peanut is in peak form, at least in summer

3

u/wholsmay Oct 03 '22

Peanut is in peak form but Tarzan at the time wasn’t the best jungler of the game (not sure if you can say peanut is the best jungler atm) . He was the best player in the world. Damkwon was shitt compared to griffin. Like they couldn’t take a game of them for his life. Meanwhile griffin was going to worlds, playing lck finals… griffin was the damkwon we know today on steroids.

1

u/bunn2 Oct 03 '22

Viper and lehends were also by far the best botlane in the world at playing non traditional lanes that at the time (stuff like vladimir esp that was meta)

2

u/djpain20 Oct 03 '22

Damwon didn't win Worlds in 2019 though. 2020 Summer Damwon stomps their 2019 self 10 out of 10 times.

1

u/Akordas Oct 03 '22

Reading this roster I dont need viagra.

79

u/mikael22 Oct 03 '22

Griffin really was a crazy storyline.

49

u/Competitive-Dot-5667 Oct 03 '22

Man I would love to hear more comms of reunions in CQ; like Impact/Faker, Wunder/Jankos, 369/Knight

38

u/thebindi Oct 03 '22

Impact Faker was about to happen like an hour ago but then Impact dodged the Q... The lobby was legit Doran Viper CoreJJ Impact Faker and some G2 players... Feels bad

32

u/szymonhimself Watch Us Oct 03 '22

Impact, probably: oh not this fuck again, carried him to a Worlds title, not gonna carry him in CQ as well cya nerds

/s

3

u/waltzingwizard Oct 03 '22

damn this just reminded me that it was lane swap meta when impact won worlds lol. the dude is like the best low econ top laner in worlds history 😂

19

u/Jozoz Oct 03 '22

It still hurts. That team could have done so many insane things.

They lost 3-2 in 2018 finals and didn't go to Worlds because of bullshit qualification rules.

When they finally went to 2019 Worlds, there was huge drama and internal implosion a few weeks before Worlds started.

25

u/stampydog Oct 03 '22

Tbf they also didn't go to 2018 worlds because they lost in the regional qualifiers to Gen G who then went to worlds. It seems shit now after Gen G performance at that worlds and because Afreeca got in through championship points when Griffin beat them in playoffs but Griffin had a fair chance to qualify and they fucked it up.

Compared to the bullshit that was KT arrows not qualifying to worlds after winning summer 2014, its nothing.

15

u/Jozoz Oct 03 '22

KT Arrows is obviously worse but GRF is also bad.

Championship points fucked them because they were not part of Spring split yet. If they were, they would have surely went over Afreeca.

And yes, GRF choked in Regionals, but we saw all top teams at Worlds 2018 tell us that Griffin was beating everyone in scrims - including top LPL and LCK teams. Damwon was also mentioned as being crazy good.

What a big "what if" that is.

Don't diss FakeGod he solo'd and clapped the fuck out of 369 in a CQ game after playins... here's the clip... 333

5

u/Akawe94 Oct 03 '22

You would be surprised on how quiet comms were in that team. They only communicated some details since everyone was on the same page on what to do.

There are very few clips on YouTube but you can find them.

126

u/laobalaomadecai Oct 03 '22

i was just going to comment saying that this kind of stacked lineups are pretty common in kr soloq if you watch lck/lpl players' streams, but then i realised how having western pros as well is a whole new experience.

71

u/thebindi Oct 03 '22 edited Oct 03 '22

Well yea I've watched LCK/LPL worlds solo Q for years, but this Champs Queue is on another level. Getting games with players from G2, FNC, T1, EDG, GEN G, Damwon, etc. all in one game is unprecedented. It's definitely the best league content I've consumed in forever, and I've been watching worlds for the last like 7 years. Like just recently, we got G2 Brokenblade vs JDG 369, and that's literally a group stage matchup, so watching them lane against each other before the tournament starts is so fucking sick as a spectator.

8

u/PsychologicalLie6802 Oct 03 '22

There was Flakked Targamas vs JDG Missing too

1

u/thebindi Oct 03 '22 edited Oct 03 '22

Ye I ended up watching pretty much every stacked CQ game. Flakked has been smurfing champs queue. There was a Flakked Missing vs Viper Targamas lane and Flakked smurfed the fuck out of the game on Trist while Missing was soft inting on Alistar. G2 has been popping off in CQ recently I'm hoping they can keep this form going into groups.

-9

u/marcinos1412ferari Oct 03 '22

yeah, if you add the na players you get a vs AI game

2

u/thebindi Oct 03 '22 edited Oct 03 '22

Honestly I would agree with you normally, but in CQ some NA players have been giga smurfing. Spica had a 29 kill Graves solo carry game against 3 T1 starters and FakeGod gapped 369 yesterday (here's the clip) and solo killed him a couple times. There have been some standout NA carry performances against really stacked international CQ rosters. I'm not saying NA will perform well internationally because they most likely won't, but at least in CQ local NA talent isn't getting totally gapped by LCK/LPL. I'm hoping that this worlds CQ will help foster some up and coming talent as well as improve our current talent to at least give us a chance at being a non-wildcard level region.

Midbeast records some of them and watches them after the worlds broadcast is over

18

u/frewp Oct 03 '22

It’s exclusive premium content brought to you by Midbeast himself. He hid in the bushes while recording this footage, doing it for the people.

3

u/mann1123 Oct 03 '22

How does he record them?

16

u/LucidDreams27 Oct 03 '22

He has an account to spectate. He can’t stream them but just spectates and records them. Think he may do it with a few streamers and they share replays to cover all games perhaps

3

u/mann1123 Oct 03 '22

But how do they have an account for CQ server? Did riot give to him?

15

u/bondsmatthew Oct 03 '22

Yeah for spectating only. Same as Caedrel, Flowers, Azael, Kobe, etc

3

u/LucidDreams27 Oct 03 '22

Yeah he's in the CQ server as a spectator which means he can watch games. Has a riot TR acc given to him yes

2

u/troccolins Oct 03 '22

Ladies and gentlemen, let's hop on over to the Rift to break it down

81

u/00_nothing Oct 03 '22

Yeah but then you're also having to listen to midbeast talk over the game.

53

u/LucidDreams27 Oct 03 '22

Each to their own. Seems to be much more casual viewing and you can always mute

16

u/The_Token_Toker Oct 03 '22

That's definitely good if there are no other options, but for me the biggest draw of these CQ streams are the comms between different pros

3

u/PieroIsMarksman Oct 03 '22

I really enjoy watching midbeast commentate, when he is playing he seems to complain quite a bit.

But his commentary is actually pretty chill, with lot of in depth nuggers of information, and he always picks fun games to make YT vids of, no stomps,

8

u/TheExter Oct 03 '22

a tracking the pros version of CQ would be so nice

everyone is trying so hard to be entertaining or fill the silence, i just wanna watch :(

4

u/SSBM_DangGan Oct 03 '22

I'd rather Midbeast that 95% of the rage machine toxic negative streamers out there

4

u/thebindi Oct 03 '22

I'd recommend watching Caedrel stream CQ games as well as Midbeast. The boy Pedro has the vibe you're probably looking for in terms of actually analyzing the game and not being negative and annoying as fuck.

21

u/pedroordep Oct 03 '22

5

u/thebindi Oct 03 '22

Holy shit mate you're fucking GOAT'd... Thank you so much!

17

u/Crewtonn Oct 03 '22

Do you know if anyone was streaming this game? Would love to look Up the VOD

6

u/Acrobatic_Attempt_61 Oct 03 '22

Midbeast streamed it 2 hours ago.

81

u/lovo17 Oct 03 '22

And FakeGod xD

5

u/thebindi Oct 03 '22

Yo don't diss the boy FakeGod. He solo killed and gapped 369 straight up yesterday. Here's the clip. He's going full hyperbolic time chamber to become NA Khan /s.

23

u/zetswei [Impractical] (NA) Oct 03 '22

There should be a way to view replays from peoples perspective IMO.

It would be so great to be able to see the thought processes, reflexes, POV etc of someone else

12

u/Ciremo Oct 03 '22

Only way I see is if one of those players loads the replay after the game to record/stream.

3

u/AmberRhino Oct 03 '22

Midbeast streams CQ vods that game is in today's vod

5

u/Ratinsput Oct 03 '22

Midbeast just played this game on his stream. Caps went like 18-2.

-49

u/Halfwitcritic Oct 03 '22

Nemesis here “champions q is a failure”

34

u/M4jkelson Oct 03 '22

Halfwitcritic here "i read only the title"

17

u/bcotrim Oct 03 '22

He literally states in the video this is the best chance Riot has to capitalize on making Champions Queue a big thing

-20

u/BloodyFool Oct 03 '22

Considering this could've happened in soloq and they would actually be allowed to stream it, I'd say yeah he's right

12

u/MasheeXD Oct 03 '22

Aren't they only allowed to not stream during the world's broadcast ?

-15

u/BloodyFool Oct 03 '22

I am actually not sure but I have not seen any streams since worlds broadcast ended

10

u/MasheeXD Oct 03 '22

CoreJJ and Stunt stream it every night after the broadcast.

4

u/thebindi Oct 03 '22

Nah bro you missed like 3 worlds finals level games... One was like Faker 369 Viper CoreJJ G2 bot Pyosik and Doran... That game was an absolute banga

-12

u/LoudAd69 Oct 03 '22

Lmfao 🤣 I can’t join and int for boring content videos? CQ is a failure

-92

u/classacts99 Oct 03 '22

Riot is so greedy not allowing anyone to stream CQ while broadcast is live. Missing out on banger games

81

u/AssPork Oct 03 '22

Not really. This as a business decision makes plenty of sense.

10

u/calvinee Oct 03 '22

Tbf, after play-ins no one would watch champs queue over worlds anyway. But yeah there are some banger CQ games. There was a Viper CoreJJ vs Ruler Meiko game yesterday that couldn't be streamed.

5

u/Zepth01 5 GAMES FINALS Oct 03 '22

Midbeast got the replay and streamed it like seven hours into his VOD of yesterday. Go check it out!

31

u/WhatIMeantT0SayWas Oct 03 '22

Greedy? How tf does that make sense?

-35

u/classacts99 Oct 03 '22

They don’t want anybody to take views from the main broadcast. I understand why.. it just sucks for people who want to watch CQ games instead of worlds broadcast.

10

u/ShinkoMinori Oct 03 '22

Its on the same vein that sucks that free to use apps put ads...

Wtf you on.

7

u/rhenut Oct 03 '22

Worlds is literally riot's biggest advertisement of the game. Business making the most logical business decision ever, more news at 11.

2

u/3IC3 Oct 03 '22

Why would they choose to take away potential viewers from the main stream that has all the sponsors and stuff? They allow CQ to be open while the stream is going so that players who aren’t playing can still use it to practice, that doesn’t mean they NEED it to be streamed

1

u/mann1123 Oct 03 '22

I really want to get replays of these, if anyone has any methods or would like to help me out with a little project of mine, dm or reply to me
