Has to be at least 2011. I remember McRooster (was that his entire name?) used it, not sure if he also created it, and I'm pretty sure he'd pretty much stopped making videos when I started playing (which itself was December 2011).

Edit: Someone below linked to a forum post dating to 2010 that contains the meme.

Edit2: Also someone else linked the McRooster video below and it seems I was wrong there; the video dates to August 2012.

u/Tamed Oct 03 '22

Brazilians used to not have their own server. Morde was considered very easy to play because his entire kit was point and click. Like, even easier than Garen because Garen still needed move inputs.

High ping + super easy champ + high WR champ = Hue hue hue, Brazilians play Morde.

71

u/averysillyman Tree Enjoyer Oct 03 '22

Basically a meme from the really, really old days of league (like 2009-2010ish). The NA server was the only one that existed back then, so everyone played on that server and you ended up getting a lot of racial stereotypes about players from certain regions.

One of them was that Brazilian players typed a lot of flame in chat, and another was that they liked to play Mordekaiser (presumably because he was a relatively easy champion to play on high ping). These two stereotypes basically got combined into one which essentially claimed all Brazilian players would pick Mordekaiser and then spam "Morde es numero uno huehuehuehue" in chat whenever they killed you or outplayed you.

4

u/FuujinSama Oct 03 '22

Just to complete the explanation "huehuehue" was one of the ways brasilian people type laughed online, a common thing in the early 2010s. (The other brasilian laugh being aushaushuahsuahsuahsuhaush).

114

u/_Zodex_ Oct 03 '22

Thankfully he had a good game here. He definitely cost them a shot at first seed today though

178

u/Aeide Oct 03 '22

I’d put more onus of that on vulcan and the draft, as a huge vulcan fan. Just brutal. Keep the boy on engage champs, as soon as that soraka was locked I knew we’d be a bit fucked

68

u/AniviaKid32 Oct 03 '22

as soon as DFM picked yuumi I knew EG must've forgot to ban it. apparently vulcan in an interview said they greeded by not banning it since they didn't think DFM plays it?

56

u/BlackTecno What are walls? Oct 03 '22

That's correct, they said they disrespected the draft and were in an "oh shit" moment after that.

Kinda insane that enchanter supports weakness used to be engage supports, and Yuumi kinda denies that. Especially on those more mobile carries.

19

u/TDS_Gluttony Oct 03 '22

Doesn’t matter what Vulcan plays if Kaori mispositions as much as he did. I agree he’s better on engage

u/moonfish817 Oct 03 '22

I think the mental game here is so underrated. This man has to be under an ENORMOUS amount of stress, and to even be an academy player for a professional team you have the ability to at least compete. He knows that he can have the mechanics and support to do well, he just needed the experience and now he's gotten it in important matches. I'm glad to see him stepping up to the pressure instead of getting dumpstered in that first game and collapsing.

25

u/whataremyxomycetes Oct 03 '22

It isn't underrated, mental is part of being a pro player. When opportunity knocks you gotta rise up to the occasion. Doesn't matter if it's his first time or that there's limited scrim time, they're here now and it's win or lose.

Sure later on we can talk about EG and how they faltered because of the lack of team synergy and kaori being completely new, but right now we're looking at them and expecting them to win, excuses don't matter right now.

bans were good, but first picked sejuani. The obvious response was trundle, exactly the champ Inspired was most comfortable with. Trundle also works well into MF, which is a core part of Louds comp.

WHY. We are already the worse team, at least draft decently

49

u/RGCFrostbite Oct 03 '22

Yeah that Sej pick was just like... EG's perfect start. EG let's them pick Trundle safely because he will ALWAYS have a good target, and it gives EG infinite flexability, if they send Sej into the jungle, cool they have trundle and counter pick top, if they send Sej top... then they have Trundle, which is still good, and get to pick a hard counter to Sej top.

When both teams are even in gold, LOUD feels that LOUD is at a great advantage and thus they do not hesitate to start a team fight. When LOUD is 3k behind in gold, LOUD thinks that LOUD is at a small advantage, and they start a team fight to secure their "lead". When LOUD is behind 7k in gold, LOUD thinks that LOUD is at a disadvantage and so they look for a team fight to regain control of the game. When LOUD is 10K behind in gold, LOUD thinks that the team has reached a desperate situation and they are only waiting passively for their death if they do not start a team fight.

191

u/f0cus622 is that a short joke Oct 03 '22

Jojo is the opposite of Bjergsen in a really specific, great way. Bjerg waits for his moment, circles a team fight and wants to come out alive.

Jojo plays very willing to trade his life, confident his team will go net positive in this trade. Sometimes he's wrong, sometimes his team are apes. But it's great to see him as such an unselfish playmaker.

132

u/Competitive-Dot-5667 Oct 03 '22

u/aariboss Oct 03 '22

What a breath of fresh air. Finally someone HUNGRY shows up in NA.

21

u/Pennoyer_v_Neff Oct 03 '22

The game against I believe it was LLL in the group stage EG went out to an early lead in the lane phase, but then fell behind in the midgame, but behind some playmaking from Jojo they kept in it and won the game.

It's the exact way TL lost pretty much all their games. Honestly, Jojo has turned me into a believer he's really getting better at the game and its fun to watch

37

u/TDS_Gluttony Oct 03 '22

I truly think he has the mechanics to get even better. This kid was playing pro fortnite. I shit you not its one of the hardest mechanical games at the highest level. It looks like he has the drive and the will to get better every single time he is doubted.

I'm inhaling all the hopium. NA talent boooooooooooooooooooyyys.

6

u/BlazeX94 Oct 03 '22

Jojo's playmaking is the whole reason EG is even here at Worlds tbh. In both the TSM and TL matches, Jojo was the deciding factor that allowed EG to win the game 5s.

u/sorcshifters Oct 03 '22

I mean Bo5 vs RNG is pretty much eliminated lol

5

u/gerardmsu Oct 03 '22

Going out as the best minor region is a pretty good result for Brazil though.

GIGACHAD NA losing on purpose to beat Brazil with Mordekaiser

9

u/xychosis Oct 03 '22

LOUD actually did well to try and flip that bot T2 fight, just fell short. But that game felt lost soon as Impact flipped that 1v2.

Impact this game: "I am the one who huehuehue's."

u/JPLangley RESIDENT IMPORT HATER Oct 03 '22

EG moving up in the world. First, they win a Bo5 with EU#5 to get to Play-Ins and now another Bo5 against EU#4 to get into Groups.

Beat RNG’s ass, Loud! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

EG internationally have been very consistent. They have always lost to teams better than them - except for once (vs T1). They have also always won against teams worse than them - except for once (vs DFM).

The games have generally been pretty one sided too win or lose.

19

u/PhoenixAgent003 NA Talent Oct 03 '22

A lot of their MSI losses were actually those "it was close until it wasn't" games.

There was one game in particular where they took 3 inhibs against G2, but Danny woke up somebody that had been Zoe slept without killing them, and it all spiraled out of control.

Anyway, Jojopyun and Danny have a 50% winrate vs Faker.

u/ThatsAToad Noooo... Danny my beloved... Oct 03 '22

EG Impact (Mordekaiser): top die x2

Impact felt bad about the first DFM game.

Losing Danny was a huge blow but Kaori genuinely looks like a great replacement when they play around him well. No random brain snaps, just plays his role and does it well.

we lost the moment we picked Sejuani, the MF-Naut botlane against Trundle was just the icing on the cake

now we need to win a possibly really hard bo5 vs DFM and do a feat at the level of a soccer team from Zimbabwe beating Real Madrid on a CL final

fuck me man, always like this

7

u/Daralion Everyday i wake up brazilian Oct 03 '22

You could see on Ceos face during the draft how bad that Naut pick was. He was SLAMMING with Amumu, Robo won his lane on last EG game. Seju wasnt prio. Just first pick amumu and play bot side LIKE EVERY GAME THEY WON.

Also that Inspired invade on blue 100% messed the game. Loud just didnt had a plan for that. They saw him leaving on a ward but Croc went to an empty top side to cover for Robo in a losing match up.

13

u/Aearcus Oct 03 '22

Yeesh neither DFM or LLL put up much of a fight at all. EG just rolled through both games lol

10

u/Yasuo_unforgiven Oct 03 '22

Obviously super pissed about having to play tiebreak for that one fucked up.
